Bev Hendry

Bev is an accomplished municipal leader with nearly two decades of experience as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for three Ontario municipalities: the Townships of West Lincoln and Scugog, and the City of Oshawa. Prior to that, she spent 19 years with the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, culminating in her role as Regional Director for Central Ontario.

Leading Change and Building Community

Throughout her career, Bev has demonstrated a strong commitment to good governance, strategic leadership, and building inclusive, welcoming communities. She brings extensive expertise in issues management, strategic planning, and organizational effectiveness.

Bev has led significant initiatives to modernize municipal services, enhance community engagement through inclusive communications, implement comprehensive growth strategies, and strengthen collaboration to improve transparency and accountability in local government.

She is a Past President of both the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators and the Ontario Municipal Administrators Association. Bev holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Science in Management and Economics from the University of Guelph, as well as a Master’s Certificate in Municipal Leadership from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
